Brighten up your Home Office

During this shelter in place order, our family has created individual spaces to work and for e-learning. Our daughters are in the kitchen and living room, with their computers and clipboards. My husband has a desk in our bedroom on a different floor to take calls and virtual meetings. My office is in the basement, which is great for editing but not so great for this lady who loves light and the outdoors!

Whatever your home office space may look like, you can brighten it up with family photos and prints.

For this example, I photographed my home office space with my phone. No, those are not my legos and yes, I did clean up before taking this!

I started the design by choosing a few favorites from a long-time Logan Square Photo client. I wanted to design the wall with frames that would display each child portrait, a family portrait and a candid photo. Since this design was for a space for Mom, I included a candid of Dad and his girls. (I always get great candids of this particular family, this Dad loves loving on his girls!).

In the first design, I chose images from the most recent photo session.

When I was growing up, my parents would replace my portrait every year, in the same frame. After a decade of this, it was always fun to open the frame and go through the portraits from each year. With that in mind, I created a few more designs to illustrate how the photos in the frames can be updated each year with photos from the annual family photo session.

I went with a 2 inch white mat and a lightly stained wood frame to brighten up the basement space. I chose photos with bright colors and light backgrounds to brighten up the wall. I am so happy with the design, I might even photograph my family to print and hang at home!
